Q: Who is Kim McCullough?

Answer:
Kim is a certified Youth Conditioning Specialist (YCS), an Ivy League graduate (Dartmouth) and has a Masters Degree in Kinesiology from York University (where she studied the athletic development of elite players from the National Hockey League and Women's National team).

Kim is the author of the Best Hockey Season Ever system, and is the President and Director of Total Female Hockey. As a trainer, coach and educator, she is dedicated to giving every single young female player the opportunity to reach her fullest potential both on and off the ice.

Kim has specialized in the development of young hockey players for the past 10 years. In addition to training and coaching over 1200 girls at all levels of hockey (from novice to the National team), Kim has also played over 400 games at the highest levels of womenÅfs hockey in the world - from the Ivy League to the Canadian WomenÅfs Hockey League. Based in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Kim travels all across North America teaching coaches, parents and hockey associations how to develop the most successful female players possible.

Q: Is the Best Hockey Season Ever program safe for kids?

Answer:
I have consulted with doctors, rehabilitation professionals and strength coaches from across the hockey world and they all agree that the exercises included in this program are completely safe for young athletes.

Athletes tend to get injured when they are trying to lift too much weight or use fancy training equipment incorrectly. The Best Hockey Season Ever program requires absolutely no equipment whatsoever and players will only be lifting their own bodyweight

I do recommend, however, that your player consults with a doctor prior to starting the program, especially if they have any specific injury issues or concerns.

Q: Fitting in all 6 pieces of this player development puzzle seems like it is going to be hard with everything else my players are involved with on and off the ice. How can I make this work for our busy schedule?

Answer:
The last thing you need is to add more on top of your hectic schedule this winter. In the Best Hockey Season Ever, I will show you exactly how you can make the 6 “little” changes in your in-season plan that will make a HUGE difference in your performance - in only 20 minutes per day. And the best part is that you won't need to spend any time driving to another training facility or gym in order to use the program - it can be done anytime and anywhere.


Q: My players don't have access to a gym. What equipment do they need to have in order to do the workouts?

Answer:
Nothing! All you need to do the exercises in the Best Hockey Season Ever program is your own body-weight, a little bit of space and some focus. No expensive gym membership or fancy equipment necessary. You can easily do this workout at home, in the park, or at the rink.


Q: Our family doesn’t belong to a gym and we don’t want to join one. What equipment do we need to have in order to do the workouts?

Answer:
Nothing! All your daughter needs to do the exercises in Total Hockey Strength is her own body-weight, a little bit of space and some focus. No expensive gym membership or fancy equipment necessary. She can easily do this workout at home, at the cottage, on vacation or in the park.

Q: How long will the workouts take?

Answer:
The workouts in Best Hockey Season Ever program will allow your players to build game-winning strength and prevent future injuries in less than 20 minutes a day. You can address all of the 6 critical aspects of player development in that small amount of time and be well on your way to taking your game to the next level.

Q: Is the Best Hockey Season Ever system only for young female players? Can my son use it? Can I use?

Answer:
The muscles and movements used in hockey are the same no matter what the gender, age or ability level of the player. Your son will get the same benefits from using Best Hockey Season Ever as your daughter will. The nutritional, mental training and off-ice training programs included in Best Hockey Season Ever will help any player (and parent) get stronger, faster, and healthier.

Q: My daughter is only 10 years old. Is she too young to start the program?

Answer:
Young athletes as young as 8 years old can safely start using off-ice training programs that involve body-weight only training. The earlier players can start building a foundation of strength, speed, stamina and stability, the better. The key with younger athletes is to make sure that they are doing the exercises properly and to make sure that they are having FUN!

And the nutritional and mental performance programs included in Best Hockey Season Ever will help them to build life-long healthy habits from an early age..

Q: Is this program easy to follow? Can my players use it on their own?

Answer:
With the Best Hockey Season Ever, you are going to receive a detailed 18 week program with clear descriptions and photographs of each and every exercise and workout. You will also receive a DVD that will show you exactly how to perform all of the exercises in the Total Hockey Warm-Up properly, as well as, easy-to-follow strategies for improving nutrition and mental performance. Although older players can certainly complete the off-ice training programs on their own, I always recommend that an adult be present if possible to make sure that players are doing the exercises properly and safely.

Q: How is this program going to help us to prevent injuries this season?

Answer:
There is nothing worse for a young player than having to watch their teammates play from the stands. The vast majority of injuries that young players suffer from are preventable. Adding in proper off-ice warm-up and recovery sessions to your routine will go a long way to having you feeling and performing your best this season. Also, working on your strength, speed and stamina throughout the year will help to prevent the burnout and fatigue that usually plagues players later in the season.

Q: Is there any benefit to my daughter starting the program halfway through the
season?


Answer:
Players can start using Best Hockey Season Ever at any time during the season and still see tremendous results in their on-ice performance. There is never a bad time to start getting stronger and faster, eating healthier and improving your mental game.
